Happy b'day to the late Maxfield Parrish!

The artist & illustrator was born in 1870 & passed away in 1966. Maxfield Parrish spent much of his celebrated life in our region in Cornish, NH. His painting Daybreak, shown above, is one of his most prolific works & we were fortunate enough to briefly see it in person a fews years ago.

Tammy Jackson Band recent live performance in Sunapee Harbor (NH).

We recently had the pleasure to catch another lgreat ive performance by local Sunapee, NH country / classic rock act the Tammy Jackson Band @ the Ben Mere Bandstand in Sunapee Harbor (NH). Headed up by Tammy Jackson & husband Cliff Clegg, two well established musicians in the NH & national country music communities, the band put on its very reliable, lively & talented two-set show. The band ran through a culmination of original & cover country (i. e - Johnny Cash & Leanne Womack) & classic rock (i. e - Creedance Clearwater Revival) tunes.

It was wonderful that the band brought on stage to join them for a few tunes, Tammy's father (Keith Fulton) for the lead on Me & Bobby McGee, her brother led the tune Green River & sis (Tracy Jo Fulton) on a country tune. The other members of the Tammy Jackson Band include, Wayne Brewer (formerly w/ 38 Special & Poco), Sean Lake, Rick Schaitel & Jody Bregler.

Ollabelle news.

From Ollabelle's online newsletter:

Ollabelle will be appearing at FloydFest in Floyd VA this Saturday July 25. Looks like a great lineup, so if you are in the area you should check it out.Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control the amazing show scheduled for Baltimore on the 26th with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and the Blind Boys of Alabama has been postponed. We're not sure how and when the show will happen again, but full refunds are available from the promoter.Glenn Patscha will be playing songs from his solo release Songs From The Jefferson Highway on July 30th at City Winery in NYC. Glenn is sharing the bill with Elysian Fields, so this should be a great show.Tickets are available here. And speaking of City Winery, Ollabelle will be playing a very special show there on October 30 with Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams. We'll be playing songs both seperately and together, so it should be a fantastic evening of music. Get a ticket now at City Winery's website.

We are pleased to announce that for the first time in over 20 years, The Mad Beach Band is coming to N.H., for this one show only. This is going to be the hottest ticket of the summer so make plans to be there, and spread the word - tell your friends not to miss this one!

T.C. Carr, the master of the harmonica and vocalist extraordinaire, brings an energy and charisma to the stage unmatched anywhere.

“Awesome” Lenny Austin, the show-stopping lead guitarist featured as one of Guitar Player Magazine’s “best unsigned guitarists in America,” on guitar & vocals.

Bryan Austin, (Lenny’s son) nominated at last year’s Austin Music Awards in Texas in the “best drummer” category was born into the Mad Beach Band the way Derek Trucks was born into the Allman Brothers. The next generation!

Vinnie Seplesky who took over for Harry Dailey on bass in the band’s early days, has been holding the groove together and keeping it “in the pocket” ever since.

Dave Williamson on vocals and acoustic guitar. This gifted singer/songwriter came to us from Nashville after years of touring with Don Williams, who recorded several of his songs. Dave produced our first record and loved the band so much he joined it!

Pete Merrigan, the band’s energetic front-man, songwriter, singer and acoustic guitarist who considers himself the most fortunate musician in the world to share the stage with the above mentioned talents!

Special guest Janie Richards joins us on vocals. A dynamic, soulful, exciting singer, she is the icing on this cake!
