GILFORD, N.H. -- The man who turned a field in Gilford into the Meadowbrook musical pavilion has died.
Bob Harding died Tuesday evening of cancer at age 65.
Meadowbrook opened as a concert venue in 1996 with a temporary stage, 2,500 folding chairs and room for about 2,000 lawn guests. Today, the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion has a permanent stage, a covered seating area for 3,097, plus 3,400 lawn seats.
In May, when announcing this season's concert tour, Harding said he was proud of what the business had become.
Friends and colleagues said his top concern was making sure concert-goers had a good experience at Meadowbrook.
