Nice tribute to Willie "Big Eyes" Smith by Modern Drummer Magazine.

Modern Drummer Magazine writer Bobby Girouard sent us his wonderful tribute (see link) to the great bluesman Willie "Big Eyes" Smith. Willie was multi-talented & hailed from Arkansas (similar to Levon Helm). Unfortunately, we lost him Sept. 16th.

The Band's tie to Johnny Wright is its covering of Down South in New Orleans & Cryin' Heart Blues, which later one of Rick Danko's albums took its namesake.
