Jim recorded on BeauSoleil's latest recording !at The Club House studio in Rheinbeck NY. also in The studio with John Holbrook mixing the new ProJecT PERCOLAToR Cd !! Jim has a song he co-wrote with Jim Tullio sung by Mavis Staples called" Have a little Faith" in the new movie out in theaters sept 12th "The Family That Preys '(2008)Directed by Tyler Perry.

Ollabelle to VT this coming wkd.

We are looking forward to travel up I-89 a bit to Tunbridge, VT to catch Ollabelle this coming Saturday @ 7 PM @ the Tunbridge Fair @ the Main Grandstand. Here is a photo we took when we caught them this past mid-July in Manchester, NH.

Amy Helm, Fiona McBain, Tony Leone, Byron Isaacs & Glen Patscha put on an amazing show. They also perform a lot of their own stage set-up & breakdown & merchandise sales. Amy & Tony do double time w/ their Levon Helm Midnight Ramble performances & many of the Ollabelle members have other side projects.

A nice reader's response & request for assistance relative to The Last Waltz.

Here is a very nice response from a reader of our blog & he has asked us & other The Band fans about a possible entire recording of The Last Waltz. We have guided him to various resources, such as Vintage Vinyl, The Band Guestbook & Rick Danko's frmr publicist Carol Caffin. If you have any input, please assist. On the standard market, Rhino's '02 four-dsic bookset is a close complete recording, but it excludes poetry readings by the Hells Angels & Richard Manuel's Georgia. The bootleg dvd The Lost Waltz is a fairly complete & more genuine non-Hollywood glitzy recording where you see & hear more (although in poor quality) recordings & experience more of what the concert was actually like. Thank you.

First of all, allow me to say that I really enjoy your blog. There are so many great tidbits on there; as a big Band fan, I am constantly blown away by the material.
I have a question for you. Do you have a copy of The Complete Last Waltz (the soundboard recording that included "Georgia," "king Harvest," etc.)? If not, do you know where I can find one?
Richard Manuel is my favorite musician and I am absolutely dying to hear him do Georgia at the Last Waltz. I heard a clip once, about 20 seconds, and it made me cry. Richard has that effect on a lot of people though.

Elliott Landy's gallery in Woodstock, NY.

Elliott Landy, famed '69 Woodstock Festival, Bob Dylan & The Band photographer has a gallery @ 77 Tinker Street across the street from the wild Woodstock Legends store. Here is his business card. We visited the quaint gallery late August '08. Many of Elliott's vintage prints are present & autographed.

Richard Manuel quote lends itself to a Bow Thayer album title.

There is a bit of a story behind Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck's album Spend It All featuring Levon Helm on drums.

The process of recording this album was very trying for the band as the original bassist quit & relocated, original tracks were almost lost, Levon had to drive down to Boston from Woodstock in an ice storm & Bow had to borrow money from a credit card to wrap up the album's production as the original record label went bankrupt. Levon told many a story to Bow & the boys & one related to the late Richard Manuel who would say "spend it all" whenever things got dicey.
